It's time to Switch and Fix your Energy Prices!

Over the last week, many of the top energy providers have increased their rates by about 30%!!!

It's now very much a level playing field and makes it easier to compare and swap around.

Click on the links at the side for Uswitch and also Money Supermarket to get the best deals available. This comparison only takes a minute, but could save you hundreds of pounds over the year.

Money Supermarket will give you £30.00 cashback and U switch will also give you a voucher for 12 bottles of wine. These offers are available simply by clicking on the links on the left hand side of this page!

For extra thrifty rates remember:
(1) Pay by Direct Debit
(2) Always check your meter reading and update the company for every bill
(3) Pay swiftly to qualify for discounts
(4) Avoid electricity pay as you go meters - much more expensive!!
(5) Do they offer an Internet only based rate - usually slightly cheaper!

Are you using your electric company as a savings account?

Do you pay your electricity and gas by direct debit?
If you do, you could be overpaying every month for your utilities.
Go and get your most recent bills and have a look to see if the reading the utility company are using has been estimated. You will see a small E next to the reading if it is.
If your bills are being worked out on an estimated reading, they could be completely wrong, resulting in you overpaying or indeed underpaying for your gas and electricity.

Everytime a utility bill comes in, it is good practice to read the meter yourself and compare it to the reading on the bill. If the reading is different, simply call the number on your statement and advise your correct meter reading. A new bill will be posted out within a few days to allow you to pay the correct amount.

I have got into the habit of checking the bills each time they arrive and have saved hundreds of pounds. This can then be put into a savings account for a rainy day.
Better in your pocket than with the utility company.
